A currant is made from dried, seedless black grapes. Naturally sweet, these currants are smaller and firmer than sultanas, and have a deep purple-black color. 

Uses for Currants

As well as being an excellent snack, currants are also great in breakfast foods, baked goods, and savoury and sweet recipes. Enhance savory dishes like sauces, stews, and glazes with their tangy flavor.
