Having a sweet, fruity taste and aroma, they are firm in texture and golden yellow in color. When fresh pears are not in season, these are a handy pantry item that can be used in sweet or savoury recipes.

Uses for Dried Pears

Dried pears are a delicious snack that is great for hikes, road trips, and school lunches. They go well with blue cheese on a cheese board, too.  They can be rehydrated and used in desserts such as pies, tarts, or compotes. Additionally, dried pears can be finely chopped and used as a flavorful addition to salads, stuffing, or savory dishes like roasted meats or couscous. Their natural sweetness adds depth and complexity to both sweet and savory recipes.
