About Hemp Seeds/Hearts

A group of kiwi farmers cultivates hemp amongst the rolling hills of Manawatu-Whanganui. Every year, the whole hemp seed is cleaned and graded after it is harvested. It is only the highest-quality hemp seeds that are de-hulled, which involves cracking and removing the outer shell. Among the many ways to retrieve hemp hearts, impact hulling is our favorite. Impact hulling involves gently rubbing the seed against a hard surface until it cracks. The result is hemp hearts. Unrefined raw products are nothing more or less than beautiful. Hemp hearts are a wonderful natural food. Hemp hearts (de-hulled hemp seeds) are a good source of Omega-3 ; Omega-6, as well as protein.

Uses for Hemp Seeds/Hearts

Hemp hearts have a light nutty taste and buttery undertones, making them an ideal addition to a variety of savory and sweet dishes. To enhance your favourite meals, you can add them to smoothies, salads, stews, soups, sammies and even sweet treats. Check out our recipe section to get some inspiration for meal ideas.
