Cacao butter sugar body scrub

Cacao butter sugar body scrub

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Melt the Cocoa Butter:

    • Place the cocoa butter in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave it in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until it’s completely melted. Alternatively, you can melt it in a double boiler on the stove.
  2. Mix the Oils:

    • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the melted cocoa butter with the coconut oil. If your coconut oil is solid, you may need to warm it slightly to blend well with the cocoa butter.
  3. Add Sugar:

    • Gradually stir in the golden sugar. Mix until you achieve a uniform consistency. The sugar will act as the exfoliant in the scrub.
  4. Add Essential Oils (Optional):

    • If you are using essential oils, add them to the mixture and stir well. This step is optional but can enhance the scent and therapeutic properties of your scrub.
  5. Cool and Store:

    • Let the mixture cool to room temperature. If it becomes too solid, you can mix it up again to achieve a softer consistency. Transfer the scrub into a clean, airtight container for storage.

Usage:

  • To use the scrub, take a small amount and gently massage it onto your skin in circular motions. Focus on rough areas like elbows, knees, and feet.
  • Rinse off with warm water and pat your skin dry. Your skin should feel soft and moisturised due to the nourishing properties of the coconut oil and cocoa butter.

Storage:

  • Store the scrub in a cool, dry place. It can last up to 3 months if kept properly.

Tips:

  • If you prefer a more solid scrub, increase the amount of cocoa butter. For a more liquid scrub, add more coconut oil.
  • Always perform a patch test before using the scrub on your entire body to ensure you don’t have an adverse reaction to the ingredients.
