Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 190°C

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss until the apples are evenly coated with the mixture.

  3. Transfer the apple mixture to a 9" baking dish and spread it out evenly. (The size of your dish can vary based on your preference to have thicker or thinner layers).

  4. In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, almond flour, brown sugar, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Pour the melted  coconut oil over the dry mixture. Stir until the ingredients are thoroughly combined and the mixture becomes crumbly.

  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.

  7. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until the topping turns golden brown and the apples are tender.

  8. Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.

  9. Serve the vegan apple crumble warm on its own or with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
