Everything Bagels!
Everything Bagel seasoning is a trend right now and for good reason, it goes with so many things! Sprinkle on avo toast, pinch onto salads & sandwiches or use to make your own version of the classic kiwi dip!
This seasoning (unsurprisingly) started by being a seasoning on bagels. So let's take it back to where it all started with this simple bagel recipe.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups High grade flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Everything Bagel Seasoning
Instructions:

Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

First Rise:
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shape the Bagels:
- Preheat your oven to 220°C
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
- Poke a hole through the center of each ball with your finger and gently stretch to form a bagel shape.

Boil the Bagels:
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Boil each bagel for about 1 minute on each side, then remove them with a slotted spoon.

Season and Bake:
- Place the boiled bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle the top of each bagel generously with everything bagel seasoning.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the bagels are golden brown.

Cool and Serve:
- Allow the bagels to cool on a wire rack.
- Enjoy them fresh or store in an airtight container for later.
