Everything Bagels!

Everything Bagels!

Everything Bagel seasoning is a trend right now and for good reason, it goes with so many things! Sprinkle on avo toast, pinch onto salads & sandwiches or use to make your own version of the classic kiwi dip!

This seasoning (unsurprisingly) started by being a seasoning on bagels. So let's take it back to where it all started with this simple bagel recipe.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
    • Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  2. First Rise:

    • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  3. Shape the Bagels:

    • Preheat your oven to 220°C
    • Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
    • Poke a hole through the center of each ball with your finger and gently stretch to form a bagel shape.
  4. Boil the Bagels:

    • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
    • Boil each bagel for about 1 minute on each side, then remove them with a slotted spoon.
  5. Season and Bake:

    • Place the boiled bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    • Sprinkle the top of each bagel generously with everything bagel seasoning.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the bagels are golden brown.
  6. Cool and Serve:

    • Allow the bagels to cool on a wire rack.
    • Enjoy them fresh or store in an airtight container for later.
