Add the contents of the jar and 7 cups of water or stock of your choice into a large pot.
Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and let the soup simmer until the lentils are soft (approx 60 minutes).
For a richer, creamier soup, stir in a cup of coconut cream after the soup has cooked.
Serve as is or put your own twist on the soup by adding chicken, additional vegetables or paneer.
