Natural Lip Scrub Recipe

Easy DIY Lip Scrub

A DIY lip scrub can be a fantastic way to combat dry and chapped winter lips. Here's a simple and effective recipe using natural, waste-free ingredients.

Remember, it's essential to keep your lips well-hydrated during winter, so drink plenty of water and use a good lip balm throughout the day. Additionally, avoid licking your lips, as saliva can contribute to further drying. With this simple DIY lip scrub, you can pamper your lips and keep them looking and feeling their best all winter long.

Ingredients

  1. 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar (exfoliating agent)
  2. 1 tablespoon of raw native honey (moisturizing and antibacterial)
  3. 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil (nourishing and hydrating)
  4. 70ml jar for storage

Method

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and honey. Mix well until you get a grainy, but sticky consistency.

  2. Add the coconut oil to the mixture and continue stirring until everything is evenly blended. The coconut oil will help bind the ingredients together and provide additional moisturization.

  3. Transfer the mixture into a clean, airtight container suitable for storage, our 70ml glass jars are perfect. Make sure to label it with the contents and date.

How to use

  1. Before applying the lip scrub, ensure your lips are clean and free of any makeup or lip products.

  2. Take a small amount of the lip scrub using your fingertip and gently massage it onto your lips in circular motions. Be gentle as the sugar granules can be abrasive.

  3. Continue massaging for about 1-2 minutes to allow the scrub to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells.

  4. Rinse off the scrub with warm water or wipe it off with a damp cloth.

  5. Pat your lips dry with a soft towel and follow up with your favorite Aotearoad lip balm to lock in the hydration.

  6. Use this lip scrub 2-3 times a week or as needed to maintain smooth and soft lips throughout the winter season.
