Pips Waste-free Popsicles!
Making popsicles with Pips soda syrup is super simple and makes for a refreshing treat!
Ingredients:
1 cup of your favorite Pips Soda Syrup Flavour
1/3 cup water
2-3 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
Optional: Sliced fruits (berries, citrus slices, etc.)
Equipment:
Popsicle molds (you can improvise with large icecube trays, tapered freezer proof cups or even muffin trays)
Popsicle sticks (these can be washed and reused OR composted at home
In a jug, combine syrup with water. Stir well to ensure the mixture is evenly combined.
Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness by adding 2-3 tablespoons of honey or sweetener of choice. Mix again until the sweetness is to your liking.
If you want to add some texture and fresh flavors, drop a few slices of your favorite fruits into the popsicle molds. Berries, citrus slices, or chopped pieces of fruit work well.
Carefully pour the juice cordial mixture into the popsicle molds, leaving a small gap at the top for the liquid to expand as it freezes. If you added fruit slices, make sure they are distributed evenly.
Gently insert the popsicle sticks into the center of each mold. The liquid should hold them in place. If you are using an improvised mold you can use a piece of compostable baking paper with small slits or compostable tape to hold the popsicles in place.
Carefully place the popsicle molds in the freezer and let them freeze for at least 4-6 hours or overnight. Make sure they are completely frozen before removing.
To unmold the popsicles, run warm water over the bottom of the molds for a few seconds. This will help release the popsicles easily.
