About Pecans
Native to the USA and Mexico, pecans are a type of nut produced by the Hickory tree. The original meaning of pecan is "nut that requires a stone to crack." Pecans belong to the same family as the walnut and have the same distinctive texture and brain-like shape, but with a slightly sweeter flavor. Pecans contain various nutrients, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins that offer some wonderful health benefits.
